What is a mature femininity for me? I think that it’s a constant curiosity about the world. It’s not a peaceful time as some people may think, that it’s a wisdom,it’s not like that. I think that we should be more naive and look for this naivety, for this come back to childhood in ourselves. I think that elder women if we will keep this naivety then it’s that “value”, because when we are not naive we became cynical and cynicism is senescence. What’s my power? Sometimes I think that I’m completely vulnerable and I think that this is my power. Power is wisdom, it’s being well-read, it’s catching all scents of the world that we get throughout the life, catching colours, memory of it all, keeping it in for yourself, sharing this these memories with others. This is my power.

A 50 year old woman is a free woman. She doesn’t have to. She doesn’t have to use the words like: should, must, have to. She can make choices. She can but she doen’t have to. She’s smart, experienced. She doesn’t have to be appealing if she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t have to wooshe can favour you. When I turned 40 I thought that it was the best time of my life-between 40 and 50 but it’s not true. It was better after 50, much better, and now I’m 60although I shouldn’t talk about this, because this project is not for 60 year olds but for 50 y/o and for example I got married. Some things are getting left behind and these are the things that used to motivate us.What is my power? I think it’s the ability to get up after I fall because I fall quite a lot and I used to get into trouble but I could always get out of them. And I think that is also my biggest virtue.

There are a lot of “to be” that make up femininity but for me it’s mainly a harmony,a peace and acceptance, accepting myself and being joyful. Also having that special “sparkle in the eye”. If a woman has that sparkle in the eye regardless her age then she’s always appealing, sexy and primarily happy and you can tell that she’s alive and enjoying life. This is an essence for me. And the irony of this is that all of these things that I mentioned come to a woman when she’s 50. At least that’s how it was in my case, that all of these things beame one and I begin to feel my inner power.

Thinking about the special age of 50 I think about what can give me power today. Certainly I get a power like this from self-education, consciousness, development and primarily the fact that I create my own reality. I really like the motto that Anna Dymna used to name her foundation “mimo wszystko”(“regardless”) which means that even though sometimes I’m not physically strong, I have the awareness that I have to do somethinng with it. Sometimes I’m not emotionally strong but I’m working on it and trying to look for external incentives. I want to think that not what’s behind me but what’s in front of me is the best.

What is a mature femininity for me? I think that it’s primarily learning to accept yourself at an older age. It’s very hard and a lot of women can’t cope with it. You need to come a long way to accept yourself. When we do this we get wings, we start looking around. We’re starting to look for an inspiration and for a strength to co this. Firstly to be in harmony with yourself and secondly to help others because it’s an improbably important thing. It gives us strength and it drives us. I’m here to support “The Inner Power” project, to show women that maturity, that famous 50 is not a casket,a grave, the end of life and that doesn’t mean that we don’t have our place. We do! Today I believe that women over 50 have new, fantastic place in a society and that they can do a lot of good for themselves, for their families and also for people around them. They have experience, they are beautiful, attractve, they can sell it and they can do good. I’m healthy, happy and I accept myself with all of my flaws, that’s what I’ve learned. I think that this is my power…and a smile of course.

I’m jealous of women that have inner power because I don’t think that I’m one of them. The beautiful project by Dorota Goldpoint that she invited me to, which I’m grateful for. Grateful because I can participate in it, but because she gave me homework to think about this subject it’s a little hard for me. If I could answer this question truly I would say that my “lady over 50’s power” which means a mature women is in my perception of the world around me, a bigger tolerance. I don’t wanna use the word wisdom because I’m not wisdom, yet. And I really envy the women that can talk about it with ease. I believe that there are women like that but I’m not like that. I wish all women, especially those over 50 , a lot of power.

In 1906 the ,,Warszawski Kurier” magazine wrote: at Krakowskie Przedmieście street in Warsaw a hackney trampled a 52-year-old woman. Some time has passed since that accident and my idea of taking part in this project was to show that since 1906 something has changed. We are creative, powerfull and we have something to say. Women who are surrounded with nice and joyful people are also happy. Women that are surrounded with toxic people and bad men are said to be strong . I would like not to be a strong women, what creates me, my power are my adversities. I want those adversities to be put to good use for something creative in life.

„The Inner Power” project is a tribute for mature women. I would like to be discreet medium that will be a part of transfer of the important messages. I have invited many important and well-known women to the project. They will talk about their struggles in life, bring up important topics ans also tell us what is their strength and from where they derive their power from. 50 years is an important and ground-breaking moment in every woman’s life. I’m have luck with people, I have met a lot of important women in my life that I owe a lot and to whom by doing this project I want to thank. Maturity is beautiful when it’s understood. My desire is to raise and strengthen in social consciousness the strength and tremendous power that mature women have in them. The Inner Power symbol is a tree-woman– for a tree to have beautiful flowers and fruits it’s roots need to be good and healthy. Women after 50 are just like that, their strength and power flowing from the inner energy allows them to survive even the hardest situations. The power is in us.
