First Lady Agatha Duda certainly impresses many with her elegant clothes. These creations can be admired, during official meetings that the president attends. The first lady has her favorite designers, which include the very well-known in fashion circles Dorota Goldpoint. How did their collaboration come about? The designer talked about the amazing circumstances under which their meeting took place.
And it happened in a rather unusual situation. Dorota Goldpoint had to sew a creation for singer Alicja Węgorzewska at express speed, for the singer’s concert at a church in Jurata.
– Jurata is home to parish priest Fr. Marcin Nowak, the person everyone seems to turn to when they have a problem. He is truly a wonderful person. In any case, he organized a concert by opera singer Alicja Węgorzewska at his church. For the occasion, the seamstress was to sew a creation. Unfortunately, she did it wrong, further damaging the material. One of my clients, who was involved in organizing the concert, called me to ask for help. Two days before the singer’s performance,” the designer confessed in an interview with wpolityce.pl.
– At the concert was the presidential couple, with whom Fr. Marcin. He asked how he liked Alicia’s performance, while highlighting the qualities of “a dress by Dorota Goldpoint, who has a boutique in Jurata.” Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the President’s Office and was asked to prepare several sets of hairstyles for the President to try on,” the designer recounted.
President Agata Kornhauser-Duda later showed up at the fashion designer’s Warsaw boutique to measure the creations. As Dorota Goldpoint emphasized, she turned out to be a warm person who loves beautiful, classic outfits. However, sewing a creation for the first lady, brings with it some limitations.
– It is often the case that we have a certain range of colors in which we can move and which the president accepts. For state occasions we allow red, but we are also happy to see navy blue. Lighter colors in summer, darker colors in winter,” Dorota Goldpoint emphasized in the interview.
This most famous dress, sewn for President Agatha Kornhauser-Duda, is a white and black dress praised for its originality, which the first lady wore to a meeting with Melania and Donald Trump in June 2019 at the White House.
– There was a request to create a dress with contrast. I decided that the juxtaposition of black and white creates the most beautiful clash of colors. Besides, the creation, with its asymmetrical neckline and asymmetrical cuts, pays homage to the classics while smiling beautifully at modernity,” explained the designer in an interview with wpolityce.pl
