Dorota Goldpoint is well-known among Polish celebrities, who are eager to get their hands on her creations. Agata Duda joined the ranks of celebrities dressed by the designer several years ago. The circumstances of their first meeting are downright surprising. It turns out that they were introduced to each other by a priest. It happened when the two ladies were staying in Jurata. Goldpoint came to the seaside town to save the performance of opera singer Alicja Węgorzewska.
– Jurata is home to parish priest Fr. Marcin Nowak, the person everyone seems to turn to when they have a problem. He is truly a wonderful person. In any case, he organized a concert at his church by opera singer Alicja Węgorzewska,” the designer explained in an interview with wpolityce.pl.
Alicja Węgorzewska was to wear a stage creation sewn by a certain seamstress. However, the specialist did not do a good job on her assignment. That’s when Dorota Goldpoint stepped in.
– Unfortunately, she did it wrong, further damaging the material. One of my clients, who was involved in organizing the concert, called me to ask for help. Two days before the singer’s performance,” comments the designer.
The beginning of a fashion collaboration
The clothing designer saved the singer from a fashion slip-up. Everything was watched from the sidelines by Agata Duda, who appeared on the show with her husband. After the concert, Rev. Nowak went to the presidential couple and asked about their impressions. The topic of Alicja Węgorzewska’s dress came up in the conversation.
– At the concert was the presidential couple, with whom Fr. Marcin. He asked how he liked Alicia’s performance, while highlighting the qualities of “a dress by Dorota Goldpoint, who has a boutique in Jurata.” Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the President’s Office and was asked to prepare several sets of hairstyles for the President to try on,” Goldpoint concluded.
A short time later, Agata Duda showed up at the fashion designer’s Warsaw boutique to see the prepared creations. Dorota Goldpoint was immediately perceived as a warm person who loves classic clothes. For an artist, however, this is quite a challenge. This is because he has to stick to certain restrictions when creating a hairstyle for the first lady.
– It is often the case that we have a certain range of colors in which we can move and which the president accepts. For state occasions we allow red, but we are also happy to see navy blue. Lighter colors in summer, darker colors in winter,” she said.
